Downtown Henderson Christmas Parade 2020 Rules and Regulations

This is a Drive Thru Parade
All participants will remain in their designated spot for two hours as cars drive through
1– All Floats, Fire trucks, and vehicles with trailers are to line up at3:30pm. All other parade entries begin line up at 4:00pm and NO LATER than 4:30pm. You will be giving a space on Garnett Street where you (group) will remain for two hours.
3– Floats will be judged based on attractiveness, best use of theme, and riders dressed according to theme. Judges decisions are final. Prizes are awarded as follows: 1st = $100 ~ 2nd = $50 ~ 3rd = $25 – PLEASE NOTE: Only paid entries will be eligible for prize money!
4– Unless using a professional float, all entries are responsible for parade transportation.
5– ALL ENTRIES MUST HAVE A CHRISTMAS THEME. For example: Antique autos are to be decorated for Christmas. In a car club – All Cars in the Group Must Be Decorated! Musical groups are encouraged to play Christmas music. NO ONE will be allowed to participate in the parade WITHOUT a Christmas theme; this includes businesses, cars, trucks, marching units, etc
7– Due to safety reasons, MOTORCYCLES AND HORSES ARE PROHIBITED. Three or four Wheelers are not permitted
8– The parade entry fee includes UP TO 3 VEHICLES for car clubs. Additional vehicles are $10 each. Example: 1 to 3 cars = 1 entry fee of $55; 3 cars +1 = $65.
10– Henderson City Code Section 10- 23 states: “No one participating in a parade or proceeding along the route of a parade shall distribute handbills, advertising matter, candy, cigarettes, prizes, or favors of any kind, within one hundred feet of any moving motor vehicle or within one hundred feet of any group of parade participants marching in an organized marching formation.”
11– Each entry must include a sign or banner with the organizations name.
12– Only preauthorized groups will be allowed to participate in the parade. No more than 25 individuals representing a single organization or club will be allowed. (This EXCLUDES organized walking or marching units)
13– Any unauthorized persons/vehicles will be turned away. NO ONE will be allowed to enter into the parade at the parade. ALL ENTRIES MUST MEET DEADLINES.
14– We will allow for enough space to ensure that you socially distance. Wear masks, please
15– No refunds will be given for no shows or entries that are removed due to rule infractions.
16– It is the responsibility of each person participating in the parade to adhere to all applicable local, state and/or federal laws. The Vance County Arts Council, The City of Henderson, sponsors, contributors, and supporters deny liability for any damages, injuries, or losses as a result of participating in the 2020 Henderson Christmas Parade.
In the event that we have severe inclement weather on 12/05/20, the parade will be held on 12/12/20, A telephone call will be made to all parade contacts if this change occurs. Therefore, please have a valid working number on the parade form. Click here for your application
